We're building a new Corporate Affairs function, and we're looking for a Senior Corporate Communications Lead to lead how we tell the story of our class actions work and the business behind it.

This is a hands-on, senior media role reporting to the Head of Corporate Communications, leading our strategy across major class actions, corporate reputation and business, financial and legal media. You'll work on some of the most significant, high-profile matters in the country, and help lead our approach to AI and earned reputation, as generative platforms play a growing role in how companies build trust and credibility. What are we looking for?

Our Media and Communications team is growing, and we are now seeking a Senior Corporate Communications Lead to join our Melbourne team. This is a full time, permanent roleand flexible work arrangements will be considered. Your energy and drive will be integral in achieving successful outcomes along with your positive approach to your work.

Key Responsibilities include:

- Lead media strategy for major class actions and group proceedings, including proactive and reactive communications.
- Translate complex legal matters into accurate, accessible and compelling public communications.
- Coordinate media activity around court milestones, settlements, judgments and other significant developments.
- Identify opportunities to showcase Slater and Gordon’s expertise, scale, impact and contribution to access to justice.
- Develop corporate reputation and communications plans across corporate, business, financial, legal and institutional media.
- Build relationships with journalists and position senior leaders and legal experts as credible public commentators.




- Support AI-optimised earned media strategies by improving the firm’s visibility, authority and credibility across media, search and generative AI platforms.
- Prepare and support the CEO and Executive Leadership Team for interviews, announcements, briefings and other high-profile engagements.
- Manage issues and crisis communications, including monitoring emerging risks, preparing response materials and applying appropriate escalation processes.
- Maintain solid stakeholder collaboration, communications governance, risk management, approvals, reporting and evaluation across internal teams and external advisers.

What will you bring?

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism, public relations, corporate affairs, business or a related discipline.
- Significant senior experience in corporate communications, media relations or corporate affairs, preferably in a complex, high-profile or regulated environment.
- Strong relationships with corporate, business, financial or legal media, with exceptional writing, editing, briefing and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex legal, financial, commercial or regulatory matters, advise senior leaders, and manage issues and crises.
- Strong judgement, integrity, discretion and resilience, with the ability to manage sensitive, high-pressure priorities and contribute flexibly as the team develops.
