Play a key role in ensuring payroll compliance and accuracy across the business

Lawson Elliott Recruitment is partnering with a leading Australian organisation with a nationwide presence, seeking an experienced Payroll Compliance Specialist to join its payroll team. This is an excellent prospect for a payroll skilled with strong compliance experience who enjoys working in a detailed and analytical environment.

You will play a key role in ensuring payroll processes and employee entitlements are accurate, compliant and aligned with relevant legislation and employment conditions. Reporting to the Payroll Manager your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Key Responsibilities

- Ensuring payroll practices comply with relevant legislation, awards, enterprise agreements and company policies
- Reviewing payroll calculations and employee entitlements to identify compliance issues and discrepancies
- Monitoring compliance with superannuation, payroll tax, PAYG and other statutory payroll obligations
- Payroll, superannuation,



payroll tax and balance sheet reconciliations
- Investigating and resolving payroll discrepancies and underpayments
- Supporting payroll audits and compliance reviews
- Reviewing changes to payroll legislation and ensuring requirements are accurately implemented
- Preparing payroll compliance reports and supporting month-end reporting requirements
- Providing advice to Payroll Manager on compliance matters
- Ad-hoc duties as required

Ideal Candidate

- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements
- Experience with superannuation, payroll tax and PAYG
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities
- Experience with HRIS and time & attendance systems
- Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
