Head, Banks & Broker Dealers (BBD), FI Australia

The Country Head of BBD is accountable for the overall client group revenues, profitability and risk acceptance (AML, CDD and Credit) of clients within their country. They are responsible, through their team, for establishing and maintaining an end to end understanding of the client group structure and client needs.

Strategy

- Develop and manage the implementation of BBD strategy across sub-segments within the country in line with the defined global customer value proposition and the overall strategic direction of the Group and CIB.
- To help shape the BBD strategy which aims to maximise shareholder value, identify and create areas of competitive advantage to contribute to the overall strategic growth of the wider business.
- As part of BBD portfolio, develop and implement Fintech strategy focused on companies offering New Payment Methods (NPMs) with focus on deposit acquisition and cross-border FX needs to increase non-financing revenue and support liability strategy. In addition, build the portfolio of Inbound names with presence in Australia and other related markets.

- Accountable for setting achievable revenue and cost targets for the country.
- Engage and collaborate with product and regional/country Coverage heads to drive cross sell initiatives.
- Manage and drive financial performance by closely monitoring financial results against targets and meeting long term economic revenue (ER) goals and RWA targets.
- Foster a culture of robust understanding of the constant trade-offs between new business, risk, control and capital deployment.
- Serve as the escalation point for customer complaints handling for clients and ensure adequate oversight, resolution and root cause analysis as appropriate.
- Build long-term client relationships by deepening and broadening the existing client relationships, identifying and managing possible client conflicts fairly and transparently.
- Bring strategic thought and vision as to how the corporate landscape regionally/globally is changing and identify opportunities of international growth.
