Your Position:

Burwood
Council is seeking a digitally fluent, hands-on content creator who can find
the story and bring it to life – through video, photography and shape
platform-ready copy.

You will create fast, engaging social content and
provide real-time coverage of Council events
and activities, while contributing to day-to-day media and
communications. You will also lead our internal communications function.

You could move from filming and editing a reel to
photographing an event, writing a newsletter or turning a complex Council
project into clear, compelling content.

You understand what works on different platforms,
capture clean footage and solid images, edit confidently, write accurately and
stay across changing trends, formats, features and audience behaviours.





We want a self-starter who pitches ideas, asks
smart questions, builds relationships, manages competing deadlines and follows
through. You will be supported by an experienced team and trusted to make
things happen.

passionate about media, communications, and digital content, we would love to hear from you.

What you’ll bring:

- A degree in communications, public relations,
marketing, or a related discipline
- Demonstrated ability to plan, film and edit
high-quality short-form video, capture strong photography and create engaging,
platform-specific social content.
- Outstanding
writing and verbal communication skills, with experience producing sharp,
accurate copy for social media, websites, media releases, newsletters and
speeches.
- A proactive, can-do approach,
sound judgement and the ability to build trusted relationships and deliver
collaboratively in a fast-moving environment.
- Proficient
use of social media publishing and analytics tools and software as well as graphic design, photo and video editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro,
CapCut and Canva (or comparable tools), plus strong knowledge of current trends, formats and platform best practice.
- Flexibility




to work outside regular office hours when required to attend Council events and provide media support.
- A current Australian C Class Driver Licence
- Willingness to complete a National Police
History Check
- Willingness to complete a pre-employment
police and medical assessment
