About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused State Manager - QLD / NT to lead sales growth, customer engagement and team performance across Queensland and the Northern Territory.
Reporting directly to the General Manager - ANZ, this leadership role is responsible for driving profitable growth across the region while ensuring effective execution of sales, training, merchandising, marketing and promotional initiatives. The successful candidate will also take ownership of one of our most important strategic customers, Trade Tools Queensland, managing the relationship at both a commercial and operational level.
This is a unique opportunity for an accomplished sales leader to make a significant impact while working with some of the most recognised brands in the industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Queensland and Northern Territory sales team to maximise territory coverage, customer service and sales performance.
- Achieve state sales budgets and manage expenses effectively.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, distributors and industry partners.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to deliver sustainable market share growth.
- Manage the Trade Tools Queensland account, including account planning, sales performance, ranging, promotions, merchandising and training initiatives.
- Build strong relationships with Trade Tools stakeholders, including head office contacts, store owners, store managers and buyers.
- Analyse sales data, market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities and recommend strategic actions.
- Drive the execution of product launches, promotional campaigns, trade nights and customer events.
- Ensure effective implementation of sales, marketing and product training programs across the region.
- Maintain accurate forecasting, CRM reporting and business performance analysis.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities while strengthening existing customer partnerships.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams including Marketing, Product, Customer Service, Operations and Finance.
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years' sales leadership experience, ideally within the hardware, power tools, trade or specialist retail sectors.
- Proven success leading teams and delivering consistent sales growth.
- Solid experience managing key accounts and strategic customer relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse performance data and translate insights into commercial outcomes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience developing and executing business plans.
- Highly organised with strong planning, forecasting and reporting capabilities.
- Business, Marketing or related tertiary qualifications will be highly regarded.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Australian work rights and a valid driver's license are required.
