Vehicle & Licence: You must possess a current Australian driver’s licence and a reliable vehicle to travel between early childhood centres.

Experience: You must have a minimum of 2 years of specific early childhood music teaching experience (ages 6 months to 5 years).

Role Type: This is a group-based early childhood music education role, not an instrumental tuition position (e.g., private piano or guitar tutoring).

About the Role

Ukubebe, winner of the inaugural ‘Early Notes Award’ 2024, is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and highly skilled Early Childhood Music Educator for a Term 4 start.

In this dynamic, mobile role, you will visit various early childhood services across Sydney’s Lower North Shore, Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs and Inner West. You will be responsible for delivering engaging, interactive, and developmentally appropriate group music education programs to young children aged 6 months to 5 years, fostering their creativity, self-expression, and social-emotional development.

What You Will Be Doing

Deliver high-quality, interactive music lessons tailored to the specific developmental stages of early childhood students.

Incorporate a diverse range of musical genres, instruments, and pedagogical techniques to inspire a lifelong love of music.

Partner and collaborate with educators, parents,



and caregivers to support children's musical journeys.

Active participation in staff meetings, training sessions, and career development to continuously refine your practice.

What We Are Looking For

Experience: 2+ years teaching music within an early childhood education setting.

Knowledge: Strong understanding of early childhood development principles and age-appropriate teaching methodologies. Familiarity with Orff, Dalcroze, or Kodály approaches is highly desirable.

Qualifications: A formal qualification in music education, early childhood education, or a closely related field.

Compliance: A current NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) and valid First Aid certification.

Skills: Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to confidently captivate young audiences and collaborate with adult stakeholders.
