Are you an experienced Maintenance Electrician or Electrical Fitter looking for a secure, well-paid position with an established Australian company?

Our client is a successful Australian poultry producer seeking a practical and reliable tradesperson to join its maintenance team at its South Windsor processing facility.

This is a solid, long-term opportunity offering $60 per hour, consistent full time hours, and overtime when required.

The position involves maintaining production machinery and plant equipment within a working poultry processing and abattoir environment. The successful person must be comfortable working around live ducks and within the operational areas of the facility.

The Role

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, your responsibilities will include:

- Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults on production machinery and plant equipment
- Carrying out preventative and corrective maintenance
- Safely disconnecting and reconnecting motors, drives and plant equipment within the scope of your qualifications and licence
- Installing, replacing and commissioning electrical components
- Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and technical manuals
- Responding promptly to breakdowns and maintenance requests
- Completing accurate maintenance records
- Assisting with plant upgrades, scheduled shutdowns and improvement projects
- Supporting mechanical maintenance and routine equipment repairs where required
- Complying with WHS, food safety, GMP and biosecurity procedures
- Participating in after-hours breakdown support and overtime when required

About You

Ideally, you will have:

- A current electrical trade qualification and electrical licence




- Industrial maintenance experience involving production machinery and plant equipment
- Strong electrical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
- Experience within food manufacturing, poultry processing, meat processing or an abattoir environment
- The ability to read electrical drawings and technical manuals
- Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to assist with broader maintenance requirements
- Welding skills, with stainless steel welding experience highly regarded
- A proactive and practical approach to maintenance
- The ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team
- The flexibility to work overtime or assist with breakdowns when required

Applicants with extensive industrial electrical maintenance experience who do not hold a current electrical licence may also be considered for an Electrical Fitter position. All work must be performed strictly within the scope of the person's qualifications and authorisations.

Hours and Pay

- Permanent full-time employment
- 38 hours per week across five days
- Some flexibility around working hours
- Overtime available when operationally required
- $60 per hour
- Classification under the Manufacturing Award will depend on qualifications and experience

To protect the health of the livestock and the integrity of the facility, employees must not:

- Keep birds, poultry or pigs at their home or residence
- Live at a property where birds, poultry or pigs are kept
- Have regular contact with birds, poultry or pigs outside of work
