We’re working with an established and highly regarded architectural practice in Brisbane seeking an experienced Associate Architect to join their senior team.

This is a role for someone who knows how to take ownership.

You’ll be overseeing projects from start to finish, managing teams, resources and budgets, resolving issues as they arise and working closely with the senior leadership team to ensure projects are delivered successfully.

We’re looking for someone who is highly technical, commercially aware and confident across all phases of architecture, but who also genuinely enjoys leading and mentoring others.

As an Associate Architect, you’ll be responsible for managing your own projects while overseeing the people delivering them.

You’ll be involved from the early stages through design, documentation and construction, ensuring each project is properly resourced, coordinated and delivered to the required standard.

You’ll be expected to understand the bigger picture while still being capable of getting into the detail when needed.

This will include:

Leading projects from inception through to completion

Managing project teams and allocating resources effectively

Monitoring project budgets, programmes and deliverables

Overseeing documentation and technical quality

Coordinating consultants and external stakeholders

Resolving project issues as they arise

Working closely with senior leadership on project strategy and decision-making

Mentoring and developing junior and mid-level staff

Managing client relationships and project expectations

Ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and to a high architectural standard

In the role as an Associate Architect, we require the following minimum qualifications:

10+ years of architectural experience

Strong Australian project experience

Current experience working within a Brisbane architectural practice

Proven experience leading architectural projects from start to finish

Experience managing teams, budgets, resources and programmes

Strong technical and construction knowledge





Confidence resolving complex project and delivery issues

Experience mentoring and developing architectural staff

Strong consultant, stakeholder and client coordination skills

A solid understanding of Revit

Excellent communication and leadership capability

Full Australian working rights

Your role will be more focused on project leadership and oversight than day-to-day documentation, however you will still need to understand Revit and be technically strong enough to review, guide and challenge the work being produced by your team.

This opportunity will suit someone who enjoys having responsibility and wants to be trusted to run their own projects.

You may already hold an Associate title and be looking for a stronger opportunity, or you may be doing everything expected of an Associate but haven’t yet received the recognition or progression that comes with it.
