About the Role

You’ll teach students of various ages and experience levels, helping them build confidence, technique, musicianship and a genuine love of music.

Depending on your speciality, lessons may include:





- Contemporary Commercial Music (CCM)
- Musical Theatre
- Classical
- Pop
- Rock
- Indie
- Soul
- R&B;
- Jazz

You may also assist with:

- Student performances
- Concerts
- Audition preparation
- AMEB examinations
- Competitions
- Ensembles
- Performance workshops

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

- Bachelor of Music (completed or in the final stages at minimum)
- Strong teaching experience (individual lessons and/or group classes)
- Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain before employment)

Graduates from the following institutions will be highly regarded:

- Melbourne University
- VCA
- WAAPA (Musical Theatre)
- Monash University (Contemporary Voice, Piano, Guitar or Instrumental)
- Sydney Conservatorium
- Queensland Conservatorium

Applicants from other Australian and overseas universities are warmly encouraged to apply also.

Voice Teacher applicants must have training in vocal anatomy and vocal science.

School Teaching qualifications are advantageous but not essential.

The Multi Instrumental position is a excellent position for composition graduates trained in various instruments and this role is also able to be extended as a songwriting role also.

Knowledge of GarageBand, Ableton or Sibelius is beneficial but not essential.

Singing Teacher Specifics

We’re seeking teachers who combine excellent artistry with an evidence-informed understanding of vocal function.

Applicants should:

- Have training in vocal anatomy and vocal science
- Be confident teaching across contemporary styles
- Understand the technical requirements of different genres

One role needs experience teaching and developing male voices

- Be passionate about healthy, sustainable vocal development

Teachers with primarily classical backgrounds are welcome to apply. For the right candidate, we offer mentoring in Contemporary Commercial Music (CCM).

Availability

We’re currently seeking teachers who can teach across some of the following times:

Vocal Flexible but preferably on either of these days: Wednesdays and Thursdays for one role and a mixture then of either Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays

Availability across these times is highly desirable, although we’re happy to discuss flexibility with the right applicant.

Salary

Remuneration is based on qualifications and teaching experience.

Please note that applicants requiring extensive mentoring or professional development may initially commence below the advertised pay range.
