Ilim College is seeking an experienced and passionate VCE Chemistry Teacher to join our Kiewa Secondary Campus commencing in January 2027.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator with a strong knowledge of Chemistry to inspire senior students, foster a passion for science and support students to achieve their best possible VCE outcomes.

About the Role

As a VCE Chemistry Teacher, you will deliver engaging and academically rigorous Chemistry programs, supporting students to develop their scientific knowledge, practical skills and critical thinking abilities.

Key responsibilities include:

- Planning and delivering high-quality VCE Chemistry lessons in accordance with the VCAA Study Design.
- Preparing students for School-assessed Coursework (SACs) and VCE examinations.
- Designing engaging practical and theoretical learning experiences.
- Assessing, monitoring and reporting on student learning and achievement.
- Using student data and assessment outcomes to inform teaching practice.
- Differentiating learning to support a range of student abilities and learning needs.
- Maintaining a safe and engaging laboratory and classroom environment.
- Building positive relationships with students, families and colleagues.
- Collaborating with colleagues within the Science Domain.
- Participating in College activities,



meetings and professional development.
- Supporting and upholding the Islamic ethos, values and expectations of Ilim College.

About You

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

- Appropriate teaching qualifications and current VIT registration.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in teaching Chemistry, with VCE Chemistry teaching experience highly regarded.
- Strong knowledge of the current VCE Chemistry Study Design and VCAA requirements.
- Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for science education.
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
- The ability to engage, challenge and motivate senior secondary students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A collaborative and professional approach to working with colleagues and families.
- A genuine commitment to student achievement, wellbeing and development.
- A commitment to supporting the Islamic ethos and values of Ilim College.
