Cathay Chung Yue Estate Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Facade Site Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a pivotal role within our Civil/Structural Engineering division, responsible for overseeing facade systems and external building envelopes on site. Based in Rhodes, NSW 2138, you will play a critical role in ensuring that facade installations meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. This position is essential to the successful delivery of our projects and directly contributes to the structural integrity and aesthetic appeal of our built environments.

Key responsibilities

Supervising and coordinating facade installation activities on site, ensuring work is executed in accordance with design specifications and approved methodologies

Conducting regular site inspections to monitor facade system performance, identifying defects, deviations, or non-conformances and implementing corrective actions

Liaising with architects, structural engineers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless coordination of facade works and resolve technical issues

Maintaining comprehensive site documentation, including daily reports, inspection records, progress updates, and quality assurance records

Ensuring compliance with all relevant building codes, Australian Standards, safety regulations, and company policies throughout facade installation

Managing schedule adherence for facade works, coordinating with other trades, and escalating delays or risks to project management

Conducting quality control inspections and material testing to verify compliance with specifications and performance requirements





Supporting the development and implementation of facade construction methodologies and best practice standards

Providing technical guidance to site teams and assisting in problem-solving related to facade systems and external building elements

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent professional qualification

Minimum 5 years' experience in facade engineering or site supervision on commercial or residential construction projects

Strong knowledge of facade systems, including curtain walls, glazing systems, cladding, waterproofing, and external building envelopes

Familiarity with Australian Building Codes, National Construction Code (NCC), and relevant Australian Standards (AS/NZS)

Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and technical documentation

Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple trades and manage stakeholder relationships on construction sites

Excellent attention to detail with robust quality assurance and compliance mindset

Competency in site documentation, scheduling software and construction management systems

Current driver's licence and willingness to work on various construction sites

Preferred:



Experience with BIM (Building Information Modelling) and facade procurement knowledge

Preferred: Professional memberships with Engineers Australia or similar professional bodies
