Your Position:

This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands‑onexperience our Development Assessment Team who pride themselves on sharing apositive experience with our customers providing guidance to ensure we maintainto be one of the top Councils on the timely review and determinations when itcomes to all Development Assessment applications.

You will support a smallcollaborative team and assist with preparing planning documents, assessingdevelopment applications, managing planning systems, and engaging withstakeholders.

This role is ideal for someone currently studying Town Planning,as it will provide practical exposure to local government processes and fostersprofessional growth in a collaborative setting.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

- Supportthe creation of contemporary strategic planning documents that guidesustainable growth across the Burwood LGA.
- Contributeto core City Design functions including preparing strategies and assistingwith the assessment of development applications.
- Manageplanning systems and registers, including the planning portal, to keepinformation accurate, accessible and up to date.




- Providewell-researched planning advice, reports and correspondence, and deliverexcellent customer service to applicants and the community.
- Takeownershipof tasks to meet timeframes, budgets and legislativerequirements, while engaging professionally with Planning Panels, theDesign Review Panel and Land and Environment Court matters when required.

To be successful in this role you will:

- Beundertaking an undergraduate or post graduate degree in Town Planning or equivalent
- Beable to communicate effectively and sensitively, whilst developing workingrelationships with all stakeholders
- Interestin acquiring experience as a Local Government planning and development andurban management support functions
- Haveexcellent written and oral communication skills
- Havegood research, analytical, time & project management skills

Key Requirements:

- Willingnessto complete a National Police History Check
- Willingnessto complete a pre-employment health assessment
- CurrentNSW C Class Driver's License
- NSWWhite Card / General Construction Induction card
