Cook / All-Rounder – Remote Coastal Queensland

Are you an experienced Cook / Front of House all-rounder looking to escape the crowds and experience life in a small, remote coastal Queensland community?

This varied role offers a excellent mix of kitchen and bar duties, giving you plenty of variety throughout your working week. You’ll assist with preparing and cooking quality meals, general kitchen duties and service, while also jumping behind the bar to serve drinks, look after customers and help with general front-of-house operations.

Working alongside a small, close-knit summer team, this is a hands-on role ideally suited to someone who enjoys variety, is happy to pitch in wherever needed and thrives in a relaxed, team-focused environment.

Summer brings a quieter pace to this tiny coastal town, along with spectacular summer storms, warm days and fantastic fishing. It’s an opportunity to slow things down, experience a different way of life and spend a summer somewhere well away from the usual hustle and bustle.

Pay & Accommodation

- Monday–Friday: $34.96 per hour
- Saturday: $41.96 per hour
- Sunday: $48.95 per hour
- Overtime: $41.96 per hour
- Public Holidays: $69.93 per hour
- Accommodation: $60 per week per person for couples / $100 per week for singles

The Role





Working across both kitchen and front-of-house operations, your duties will include:

- Preparing and cooking quality bistro-style meals
- Assisting the chefs with daily kitchen operations
- Food preparation and general kitchen duties
- Maintaining a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen
- Working effectively as part of a small team
- Serving customers and providing friendly front-of-house service
- Working behind the bar and preparing drinks
- Handling cash and EFTPOS transactions
- Assisting with general venue duties as required

What We’re Looking For

You’ll be well suited to this position if you have:

- Previous experience in a similar role
- Good food preparation and cooking skills
- Confidence working across both kitchen and front-of-house areas
- A practical, hands-on approach to work
- The ability to work well within a team
- Flexibility to take on a variety of duties
- The ability to live and work comfortably in a remote location
- A willingness to obtain an RSA and RSG
- A genuine interest in making a minimum 6-month commitment, with a longer-term stay ideally preferred

- Work may also be available for a travelling partner who is a qualified Chef
