Our client is a long-established, highly regarded multidisciplinary consultancy with a strong reputation across the Australian engineering market. They're growing a specialist team here on the East Coast, backed by a strong project pipeline and structural engineering work already coming through the door.

They now need a Principal Structural Engineer in Newcastle to deliver it.

What the role covers

- Lead and deliver structural engineering projects from concept through to delivery
- Provide technical leadership across structural design and project execution
- Prepare and contribute to proposals, tenders and client submissions




- Develop and hold senior client relationships
- Identify and help convert new project opportunities
- Build the structural capability; mentor and develop engineers as workload grows
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the East Coast business
- Stay involved through delivery, not just at the front end

Who they're looking for

- Senior Structural Engineer, Principal or Engineering Leader with a robust record delivering projects across mining, resources or heavy industry
- BEng or higher in Civil/Structural. CPEng strongly preferred, though the right technical depth, leadership and market standing can outweigh it
- Someone who has worked directly with mining clients and industrial asset owners and is comfortable and credible in front of them
- Commercially minded, with experience preparing proposals, scopes and submissions
- An established network across the mining, resources, engineering or infrastructure sectors
- Leadership experience: building teams, mentoring engineers, lifting capability
- The confidence and commercial maturity to operate with real autonomy
