We are looking for a Liaison Officer to work with our client in Moreton Island.

In this position:
You will serve as the primary point of contact for the business to engage with Australian and international groups, organisations and guests. The focus of the position is facilitating smooth operations of various aspects of the business (external- and internal-facing) with particular attention to ensuring the highest standards of planning, policy development, staff training, procedure documentation, implementation and ongoing review of communications strategy.

Duties and responsibilities:

- Develop and implement culturally appropriate communication, events, itineraries, and guest experiences focused on marine, natural and local cultural environments.
- Manage guest inquiries, requests, and complaints, ensuring timely resolutions and exceptional customer service.
- Create culturally sensitive communications, including media releases, marketing materials, brochures, menus, waivers and other guest collateral.
- Facilitate communication, translation and interpretation between international guests, travel operators, service providers and staff.
- Deliver cultural awareness and resort information sessions to guests and staff to promote respectful and effective cross-cultural interactions.
- Coordinate tours, meals, special requests and group arrangements for families, incentive groups, film crews, educational groups and international clientele.




- Build and maintain strong relationships with guests, tour leaders, local guides, airlines, travel agents, tourism venues and charter organisations.
- Lead and supervise staff in delivering promotional initiatives and seamless guest experiences.
- Support travel industry events and media engagements while staying informed about industry trends and guest service best practices.
- Design memorable, tailored holiday experiences for diverse international guests, including Chinese-speaking clientele.

Experience:

- Engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders, staff and guests through a culturally sensitive and informed approach.
- Lead staff training and awareness initiatives and develop and review communication strategies to enhance culturally appropriate tourism offerings and strengthen market positioning.
- Promote cultural awareness and sensitivity across all resort operations, including food and beverage, tours, accommodation, transport, and first aid, to enhance guest experiences and service delivery.
- Solid interpersonal and communication skills.
- Applicant must ideally hold relevant vocational or tertiary qualifications.
- At least 1 year full time working experience in the relevant field.
