The Gig

An exciting opportunity has become available for a practical, organised and commercially aware Project Engineer to join the Queensland team in Brisbane. Working alongside Project Managers, Engineers, site teams, subcontractors and suppliers, you’ll support the coordination and delivery of civil infrastructure projects from planning through to completion.

You’ll ply your trade across programming, cost tracking, procurement, contract administration and reporting while staying closely connected to site delivery. From variations and progress claims through to drawings and project documentation, you’ll gain broad exposure to the technical and commercial pieces that keep projects moving.

Collaboration sits at the heart of the role, working across project, commercial and site teams to flag issues early and support practical delivery outcomes.

You will be trusted with:

- Coordinating day-to-day project activities
- Supporting project planning, programming and progress reporting requirements
- Tracking project costs, forecasts and broader commercial performance
- Managing variations, purchase orders and subcontract administration requirements
- Reviewing drawings, plans and technical project documentation
- Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and key project stakeholders
- Supporting progress claims, invoices and commercial project administration
- Maintaining project registers, records and reporting documentation
- Supporting safety, quality and environmental compliance requirements
- Identifying delivery issues early and helping drive practical solutions

What’s in your toolbox?

- Civil Engineering degree with practical construction exposure
- Experience supporting the delivery of civil infrastructure projects
- Commercial awareness across project costs, claims and variations
- Ability to interpret drawings and turn technical information into practical outcomes
- Strong organisation across competing project priorities and deadlines
- Confidence working with project teams, subcontractors and site crews
- Strong Excel capability with exposure to Microsoft Project and project systems such as IFS
- Current Driver’s Licence and Construction White Card

You’re the kind of person who enjoys being across the detail and understanding how the whole project comes together.

You’re practical, organised and comfortable working between office and site teams, keeping an eye on costs, documentation and delivery priorities. You communicate clearly, build strong working relationships and bring the judgement and initiative needed to keep projects moving while building toward greater project responsibility.
