Applecross

Predictive Recruitment Partners has been engaged by Roshana Care Group to find two mature, experienced, people-oriented individuals to job-share the role of Concierge at Grandton Applecross Retirement Residences — bringing warmth, discretion, initiative and calm, capable follow-through to the daily life of a premium retirement community.

About Grandton Applecross:

Grandton Applecross is an over-55s vertical retirement village of 80 luxury residences and around 130 residents, combining independent retirement living with an in office residential aged care facility (RACF) operated by Roshana Care Group. It’s a genuinely blended community — residents, aged care staff, an on-site restaurant, and a range of building and lifestyle services all under one roof.

The Concierge sits at the heart of it all, reporting to the Council of Owners, and working closely with the Building Manager and Roshana staff to keep the building running smoothly and residents well looked after.

About the role:

This is a job-share position, with two people covering the desk between them across a full 8:30am–4:30pm, Monday to Friday roster (either a 2/3 day split or alternating 5-day fortnights).

As Concierge, you’ll be the first point of contact for residents, families, visitors, support workers, and staff — equally comfortable managing a busy front desk, defusing a frustrated resident with patience and authority, and proactively suggesting the next outing or event residents might enjoy.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Providing a professional, welcoming front-desk presence and managing calls, enquiries and correspondence across a range of stakeholders
- Managing visitor and vehicle access, including a parking token system and car stacker inductions
- Coordinating building and apartment maintenance requests through to resolution, liaising with the Building Manager and trades
- Making restaurant reservations and booking taxis for residents, and proactively offering these services when the opportunity arises
- Maintaining a trusted directory of local trades and service providers, and coordinating bookings on residents’ behalf
- Using genuine initiative to suggest events, activities and outings residents will enjoy, and helping bring them to life
- Managing resident access (fobs, keys, apps) and providing patient, practical tech support
- Coordinating new resident inductions and move-ins

- Maintaining safety and security vigilance, including fire evacuation procedures and incident escalation
- Keeping accurate records and handover notes to ensure seamless continuity with your job-share partner

About you:

You’re a natural people-person who genuinely enjoys building relationships and making others feel looked after — but you’re just as comfortable holding a boundary, applying a rule consistently, or staying composed when someone is upset. You’re sociable and persuasive rather than purely reserved: you can strike up an easy conversation, read what a resident needs, and communicate policies and processes in a way that brings people along rather than creating friction.

You’re organised, service-oriented and detail-focused and you take real pride in following through — closing the loop on a maintenance request, remembering a resident’s usual preferences, or making sure your job-share partner is fully briefed before you head off. You have the maturity to know when to use your own judgement and when to check in, and you’re motivated by being a reliable, valued, and trusted presence in a close-knit community.

Key Traits for Success in This Role:

- Warm and Sociable — You build rapport easily and enjoy being the friendly, familiar face residents feel comfortable approaching
- Proactive and Resourceful — You spot opportunities to help — a suggested outing, an offered booking, a helping hand — rather than waiting to be asked
- Calm and Consistent — You apply rules and processes fairly, and stay composed and authoritative when a situation gets tense
- Detail-Oriented and Reliable — You keep accurate records, follow through on commitments, and hand over cleanly to your job-share partner

What you bring to the role:

- Experience in concierge, reception, event management, hospitality front-of-house, retirement living, strata or a similar service-focused role
- Maturity, life experience, and excellent interpersonal skills with older demographics, including patience, warmth and calm confidence

- Strong conflict de-escalation ability, with genuine composure under pressure
- High attention to detail and reliable follow-through on logs, registers and resident requests
- A valid Western Australian driver’s licence and confidence driving a range of vehicles
- Proficiency across the Microsoft 365 suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)

What we can provide:

Grandton Applecross offers a genuinely varied, people-first role at the centre of a premium retirement community, reporting to the Council of Owners and working closely with Roshana’s care team. You’ll have the autonomy to bring your own warmth and initiative to the role, in a job-share arrangement that supports genuine work-life balance while still being a trusted, valued part of the Grandton community.

What you must have to apply for this role:

- Full working rights in Australia
- A valid Western Australian driver’s licence
- A current Senior First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
- Proven ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

You will also be highly regarded if you have:

- Experience coordinating contractors or handling building-related issues
- Familiarity with access systems (fobs) and common building services
- Experience in environments requiring heightened sensitivity (retirement communities, aged care adjacent settings)
- Experience initiating and coordinating events and functions
- Proficiency in design software (Canva or similar)

Additional Information: Eligibility:
This position is available to permanent Australian residents or applicants with a work visa that enables them to work in Australia without restriction.

Sound like your kind of role?

If your answer is yes, please complete the following steps to be considered for this position:

- Cover letter — every applicant is required to provide a cover letter addressing the role criteria.
- Resume — every applicant is required to provide an up-to-date resume.
- Assessment — every applicant is required to complete a short 5-minute online assessment. The link will be sent to you upon receipt of your cover letter and resume.

You must complete ALL of the above steps for your application to be considered compliant. Failure to complete all steps will result in your application not being progressed.

Applications close: 18 October 2026
