The Surveillance Operator is responsible for monitoring, recording, and reporting all casino and property
activity to ensure compliance with gaming legislation, internal controls, and venue policies. This role plays a
critical part in protecting Lasseters’ gaming licence, assets, staff, and guests.
The Surveillance Operator maintains constant vigilance across gaming areas, public spaces, and back-of-house
operations, identifying irregular activity, supporting investigations, and ensuring operational integrity at all
times.

WHAT - Experience and competency I have
• AQF Certificate II or III in Security Operations OR
• At least 1 year of relevant experience OR
• Qualified and confidential
communication
• Strong work ethic
• Ability to remain objective and impartial
• Cultural awareness
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in lieu of formal qualifications
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Casino Operatives Licence
• RSA and RSG (or ability to obtain)
• Experience in surveillance, security, gaming operations, or compliance environments
• Preferable strong understanding of casino operations (EG, Table Games, TAB, Keno)
• Preferable knowledge of gaming legislation and internal controls
• Ability to interpret procedures and identify irregularities




• Experience writing detailed and accurate reports
• Competency with CCTV systems and surveillance software
• Strong time-management and organisational skills
• Ability to work across a 24/7 roster including nights, weekends and public holidays
• Professional presentation and always conduct

Responsible to Surveillance Manager
HOW – Key Responsibilities
Surveillance Monitoring
• Monitor all gaming areas including Electronic Gaming, Table Games, TAB and Keno
• Observe patron and staff behaviour for irregular or suspicious activity
• Ensure compliance with gaming rules, procedures, and internal controls




• Conduct routine surveillance audits as directed
Incident Detection & Investigation
• Identify potential fraud, theft, collusion, or procedural breaches
• Review and extract CCTV footage when required
• Support investigations in coordination with Gaming Management and Security
• Escalate concerns promptly to the Surveillance Manager or Gaming Manager
Reporting & Documentation
• Maintain accurate logs of observations and incidents
• Prepare detailed written reports in line with regulatory requirements
• Provide video evidence and documentation as requested
• Maintain confidentiality and data security at all times
Compliance & Risk Management
• Ensure surveillance operations meet all regulatory and licensing obligations
• Support audits and regulatory inspections
• Assist with internal control reviews and compliance assessments
Team Collaboration
• Liaise with Security, Gaming Supervisors, and Management
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding surveillance operations
• Contribute to a professional and cooperative working environment
