About the Role

NES Group Medical is seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Technician to join our national technical team, based in Queensland.

We are an established national biomedical services company, headquartered in Sydney, with team members based across Australia. While this role will primarily service our Queensland clients, you’ll be part of a wider national team and may occasionally support clients interstate.

In this full time role, you’ll be responsible for the testing, calibration, maintenance, fault-finding and repair of medical and sterilisation equipment across hospitals, clinics and healthcare facilities.

We are looking for someone with strong electrical/electronic fault-finding ability, excellent attention to detail and a genuine willingness to travel.

Previous biomedical experience is highly regarded but not essential. If you are a qualified electrician or electronics technician looking to move into the biomedical field, we can provide specialised on-the-job training and mentoring.

Approximately 50% of this role involves travel to regional and remote locations, including overnight stays, so a genuine willingness and ability to travel regularly is essential.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform preventative maintenance, calibration, testing and repairs on a range of medical equipment

- Diagnose electrical and electronic faults and carry out technical repairs

- Perform servicing, validation and repairs on sterilisation equipment, including autoclaves

- Conduct electrical safety testing and ensure equipment meets relevant Australian standards and compliance requirements

- Complete accurate service reports and compliance documentation





- Communicate professionally with healthcare staff and provide technical support where required

- Work independently in the field while being supported by our national technical and administration teams

- Identify and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have qualifications and/or experience in one of the following areas:

- Biomedical Engineering / Biomedical Equipment Technology

- Licensed Electrician

- Electronics Technician

- Medical Equipment Technician

You will also need:

- Excellent electrical/electronic fault-finding abilities

- A practical, hands-on approach to diagnosing and repairing equipment

- High attention to detail and a safety-first mindset

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Confidence working independently at customer sites

- A current Australian driver's licence

- A genuine willingness to travel regularly throughout regional and remote Queensland and interstate when required
