About the Role

As an Apprentice Auto Electrician, you will assist with the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems on heavy mining equipment. You will gain hands-on experience working on a variety of mobile plant equipment while completing your apprenticeship

This residential position with a roster Monday – Friday working 40 hours per week. On completion of trade school apprentices will get the opportunity to work rotating shifts, giving them the exposure to what it’s like to work as an Auto Electrician. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience while completing a nationally recognised qualification and learning from experienced tradespeople in a dynamic mining environment.

Duties Include

- Assisting with fault finding and diagnostics on mining equipment.

- Maintaining and repairing electrical systems, wiring, and components.

- Installing and testing electrical equipment.

- Completing servicing and preventative maintenance tasks.

- Following safe work practices and site procedures.

- Maintaining a clean and organised work area.

What We're Looking For

- Strong interest in automotive electrical systems and heavy equipment.

- Completion of Year 10, with Year 12 preferred

- You are reliable, motivated and have a positive attitude

- Willing to listen and follow instructions to build your learning and ensure safety is a core value at all times

- You will need to have good literacy and numeracy skills to complete theory components of your mandatory study modules at TAFE.

- Excited to work at times in an underground environment
