Oral Health Therapist – Part-Time

Are you an Oral Health Therapist looking for a friendly dental practice where you can grow your skills, enjoy variety and feel supported?

Waverley Road Dental is looking for a caring, highly efficient and motivated Oral Health Therapist (OHT) to join our team.

This is a great role for an OHT who has a solid handle on general dentistry and hygiene, but would also like the chance to learn more about Invisalign, orthodontics, implants and digital dentistry.

Why work with us?

We want our OHT to grow with the practice, not simply come in and do hygiene appointments.

You will be taking over an existing OHT Appointment book, receive mentorship, ongoing training and support from the team.

The right candidate will be knowledgeable or have an interest in the below specialties:

- Implant and All-on-X hygiene and maintenance

- Invisalign

- Orthodontic braces and appliances

- Orthodontic records

- Digital scanning

- Smile design and professional photography

- OPG and lateral cephalometric imaging

- CBCT imaging and workflows

You do not need to have experience in all these areas.

If you have the right attitude and are willing to learn, we are happy to teach you.

Our practice has modern technology and equipment. We want our OHT to become confident using digital dentistry as part of everyday patient care.

- Works well with the dentist, dental assistants and front office team

- Is flexible and can adapt when the daily schedule changes

- Is willing to support the dentist and the wider team when needed

- Enjoys learning new skills and using new technology

- Wants to be part of a practice for the longer term

Most importantly, we are looking for someone with a growth mindset, strong communication skills and a willingness to learn.

You do not need to know everything on day one.

Hours

We are looking for someone who can work:

- Thursday 8:30am–5:30pm, OR two half-days by negotiation

- Every second Saturday in Preston and Mt Waverley clinic locations doing mainly hygiene maintenance

- Additional hours may become available as the role grows

Pay: $50–$60 per hour, depending on your experience, qualifications and scope of practice.
