Build a career in project coordination within the utility metering industry
Choice Metering delivers electricity and pulse metering solutions for embedded networks.
Our deployment team coordinates the equipment, technicians, contractors and site requirements needed to install and commission metering systems across new and existing developments.
We are looking for a Junior Project Scheduling Coordinator to join our Hallam-based team.
This is a junior position and full training will be provided in metering, our deployment processes and our specialist systems.
However, this is not an entry-level office position. Applicants must already have practical experience working in an office or business environment and be confident using Microsoft 365 applications.
About the role
Reporting to the Project Manager – Deployments, you will help coordinate multiple electricity and pulse metering installation projects.
The role is fundamentally about keeping people, equipment, information and dates coordinated.
You will work with our Project Manager, Warehouse Manager, technicians, external contractors, builders, site managers and customers to help ensure projects are properly planned and progress as expected.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain project and installation schedules across multiple sites.
- Book and coordinate in-house technicians and external contractors.
- Confirm equipment availability, site dates, access requirements and installation information.
- Monitor scheduled work, follow up outstanding actions and keep project records current.
- Communicate with customers, builders, contractors and internal staff regarding project timing and requirements.
- Identify scheduling conflicts, missing information, equipment issues or potential delays and escalate them early.
- Use project and workflow systems to track jobs from planning through to completion.
What you need to be considered
This is a junior project coordination role and we will provide training in metering, deployment processes and our specialist systems.
However, applicants must already have practical office-based business experience and be confident using Microsoft 365 in a working environment.
To progress to interview, you must be able to demonstrate:
- Previous experience working in an office-based business role.
- Practical use of Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel.
- Excel skills including data entry, sorting, filtering, tables and basic formulas.
- Good written and verbal business communication.
- Robust organisation, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Confidence learning and working with unfamiliar software applications.
- The ability to take ownership of tasks and follow them through to completion.
Microsoft 365 skills will be practically tested during the recruitment process.
This role is not suitable for someone seeking their first office-based position. We will train you in our industry and systems; we expect you to bring the business and computer skills required to operate effectively from the outset.
Experience that would be an advantage
Previous experience in any of the following would be beneficial, but is not essential:
- Project administration or project coordination
- Project scheduling
- Construction or building services
- Field-service or trades coordination
- Logistics or dispatch
- Technician or contractor coordination
- Utilities, electrical or pulse metering industries
Previous metering experience is not required.
