About the role

The Head of Curriculum & Learning Outcomes is a full time role responsible for ensuring our course materials are the best in the tutoring industry and that they produce measurable improvements in student performance.

This is a hands-on player-coach role, not a purely managerial position. You'll lead and develop our curriculum team and set standards for content quality. You'll also personally create, review and improve materials, and remain an active subject-matter contributor in Secondary Mathematics and Selective Exam course content.

What you'll do

Curriculum and content excellence (approx. 80%)

- Lead, manage and develop the curriculum content team, including recruiting, coaching and performance-managing team members and subject-matter contributors.

- Personally develop, review and improve High-School Mathematics and Selective test preparation materials.

- Establish and maintain clear standards for accuracy, instructional quality, consistency, accessibility and student engagement, and ensure materials align with the relevant curricula, syllabuses, examinations and student needs.

- Set curriculum priorities and manage the content-development roadmap, ensuring projects are delivered to an excellent standard and on schedule.

- Build effective processes for authoring, reviewing, testing, publishing and regularly updating content. Use feedback from students, tutors and performance data to continuously improve it.

Student outcomes (approx. 20%)

- Define what successful student improvement means and how it should be measured, including reliable methods for establishing baselines and tracking progress.

- Work with teaching, operations and other teams to embed outcome measurement into class delivery.

- Analyse student-performance data to improve curriculum and instruction, design and evaluate initiatives to lift results, and report on learning outcomes with evidence-based recommendations.

- Demonstrable, meaningful improvement in student learning outcomes

About you

Essential

- Deep subject-matter expertise in secondary mathematics, with the ability and willingness to personally create detailed, high-quality maths content

- Significant experience creating or improving educational content, with strong editorial judgement and exceptional attention to accuracy

- A strong understanding of curriculum design, assessment and effective instructional practice

- Experience leading and developing high-performing teams

- Experience using evidence and data to improve educational programs

- The ability to balance long-term strategy with hands-on delivery, plus strong project- and stakeholder-management skills

Desirable

- Experience teaching or tutoring Secondary Mathematics and Selective exam preparation

- Knowledge of the relevant secondary-school curricula and examination systems

- Experience designing diagnostic or formative assessments, or measuring student progress and evaluating educational interventions

- Experience in tutoring, education technology, publishing or another high-growth education organisation

Working relationships

- Directly manages: course content creators, proofreaders, solution writers and video solution creators

- Works closely with: operations and teaching teams

- Location and working arrangements: Full time at our Bella Vista Head Office
