The Opportunity
If you’re currently studying accounting and looking for an opportunity to start building your career before you graduate, this is an excellent chance to learn from an experienced and highly qualified finance team.

We are partnering with a successful and growing Australian organisation to appoint an Undergraduate Accountant to its finance team in Eight Mile Plains.

This isn't a role where you'll be expected to arrive with years of accounting experience. The team is looking for someone with the right attitude, aptitude and genuine ambition to build a career in accounting.

Ideally, you'll be approximately 6–18 months away from completing an accounting degree, with aspirations to pursue your CA or CPA qualification
following graduation.

You might be a university student beginning your professional career, or perhaps you've made the decision to study accounting later in your career and are now looking for the opportunity to get your foot in the door. Either background could work well.

The Role
You'll join an established finance function and learn accounting from the ground up, working alongside experienced finance professionals including a number of CA/CPA-qualified accountants.

Initially, you'll support the team across foundational finance and accounting activities, with your responsibilities increasing as your knowledge and capability develop.

Your exposure will include:

- Accounts payable and transactional accounting
- Invoice processing, purchase orders and payment processes
- Bank, supplier and account reconciliations
- General ledger and journal support
- Assisting with month-end processes
- Expense and credit card reconciliations
- Supporting the broader accounting team with reporting and analysis
- Learning finance systems and accounting processes
- Exposure to qualified Management Accountants,



Financial Accountants and senior finance leaders
- Taking on increasingly accounting responsibilities as you develop

The intention is not for you to remain in transactional accounting. You'll build the fundamentals first, before progressively gaining broader exposure and developing your accounting career within the team.

About You
We're less concerned about how much accounting experience you already have and more interested in where you want your career to go.
You'll ideally:

- Be currently completing a Bachelor degree in Accounting, Commerce or Business with an accounting major
- Be approximately 6–18 months from graduation
- Have an ambition to become CA or CPA qualified
- Be genuinely interested in developing a long-term career in accounting
- Have strong attention to detail and numerical aptitude
- Be comfortable learning new systems and processes
- Communicate well and enjoy being part of a team
- Bring a positive attitude, curiosity and willingness to learn

Previous office, accounts, administration or finance experience would be helpful, but isn't essential.

Equally, we welcome applications from people who have transitioned into accounting studies after beginning their career in another field.
