We’re currently looking for a motivated and experienced full time Retail Sales Assistant to join our experienced Port Melbourne team.

About the Role

As a Retail Sales Assistant, you’ll be the face of our brand—delivering outstanding customer service, supporting sales outcomes and helping customers choose the best products for their pets. You’ll also support the Management team with daily store operations, contributing to a safe, organised and efficient retail environment.

A customer-first attitude, passion for animal wellbeing and a strong commitment to workplace safety are essential to succeed in this role.

Key Responsibilities

· Deliver friendly, professional customer service and provide informed pet care advice

· Actively contribute to sales by promoting products and current in-store offers

· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of pet care products, including nutrition, grooming and accessories

· Receive, unpack, and process incoming stock accurately and efficiently





· Assist with daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures when required

· Support stock control through replenishment, merchandising, inventory checks and stocktakes

· Maintain a clean, organised and visually appealing store setting

· Complete tasks efficiently and within required timeframes

· Safely perform manual handling tasks (up to 20kg) in line with safe work practices

· Comply with WHS policies and procedures and report hazards or incidents as required

· Maintain flexibility to work weekdays, weekends and public holidays

About You

· Previous retail experience (pet, animal, or specialty retail highly regarded)

· Sound knowledge of pet care across dogs, cats, small animals, birds, reptiles and fish (preferred)

· Genuine passion for animals and their wellbeing

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills

· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment

· Basic numeracy skills for accurate cash handling and transactions
