Our client is one of Australia's fastest growing advisory firms, with a Data & AI practice that is already delivering some of the most significant analytics and machine learning programs in the country. The platforms this team has built are actively informing operational and investment decisions across entire state transport networks.

They now want a director to establish and drive the practice in Queensland, focused on the transport and health markets. This is a genuine build role with national backing: an established brand, a strong delivery bench, senior air cover, and reference work that opens doors.

The role

This is a genuine build and deliver Director level consulting position, split roughly 50/50 between winning work and delivering it on engagements.

- Own and grow the Queensland Data & AI market, with a focus on transport and health
- Hunt and shape new opportunities: identify problems, develop propositions, lead pursuits and proposals
- Stay hands on. Sit with clients and walk them through the solution, whether that is an analytics platform, a machine learning model or a decision-support tool
- Lead delivery of major technical programs into government clients, from strategy through build and implementation
- Present to senior stakeholders and executives, then back it up in the detail
- Build and mentor a local team as the practice grows

What we need

- A consulting background. This is not negotiable. You know how to scope, sell,



price and deliver advisory and technical work, whether you learned it at a big firm or a boutique
- Real technical depth in data and analytics: machine learning, advanced analytics, data platforms, and delivering technical solutions into production, not just strategy decks
- A track record of winning work: you have carried or contributed to a sales target and can point to engagements you originated
- The credibility to take clients on the journey, translating complex technical solutions for non-technical decision makers
- Experience delivering into government, or the ability to operate credibly in that environment
- Exposure to transport or health domains is a solid advantage
