Position: Bartender

Location: 33 Kingsway, Launceston CBD

Employment Type: Casual, because we know you’re scared of commitment

Salary: Hospitality Award Rate – Level 3 + tips

Hours: Friday and Saturday with the occasional midweek or Sunday shifts

Expected Start Date: ASAP, we’re ready

Alrighty then hotshots, think you can work a bar? Hope so, because we need someone who actually can. We’ve been open for about 10 months in Kingsway, Launceston CBD, and it’s taken off! If you’ve bothered to read the ad, you’ll see we’re called Martini’s Cocktail Lounge- so original and creative, for cocktails, right?!

You’ll need proven experience behind a bar. We can be flexible on the years, you just need to prove you can do it, and do it well. We hate to say it, but you will need “StrOnG cUStoMeR SeRViCe SkiLLs”. None of this “what can I get you” nonsense as your opening line.

It’s clear we love a bit of tongue and cheek, but we do take this seriously. The cocktail lounge’s gotta have good vibes, no depressing music or lack-lustre staff moving at a snail’s pace. There’s a bit of a nod to the 1920’s scene, so think of something with a bit of old-school charm, but not stiff and pompous. We’re a small team, so there’s opportunity for someone who knows their stuff to come on in and take responsibility,



whether it’s around events and bookings, the menu, styling the place, or being a bit of a leader. We’re looking for initiative, not a someone with a need for supervision or instruction. We know we said casual, but we’d be open to seeing where things go between us…

What you’ll bring:

- Proven bartending experience.

- A personality and sense of humour.

- Nerd level knowledge of beer, wine and spirits.

- The ability to smile and not roll your eyes when you hear something stupid.

- An unwavering love for the job, especially when you’re cleaning up someone else’s mess.

What you need to do:

- … Tend to the bar; man the bar, clean the bar, serve drinks, explicit drinks, be nice to people, etc etc.
