About the role

A Senior Accountant is a highly productive and functioning member of the team, managing work at volume and with technical knowledge and agility. They have a high level of knowledge of business services and are to complete work efficiently, recognise issues of concern and opportunities as they arise and take steps to resolve or maximise opportunities. Senior accountants develop a higher level of taxation knowledge beyond basic compliance and apply this knowledge to their work. Seniors also work co-operatively with the team, sharing their knowledge with other team members and contributing to the team as a whole.

Key responsibilities

- Develop and maintain excellent support and communication with clients

- Identify and follow up opportunities to add value for clients and for PrincipleFocus

- Work collaboratively with the team, to support each other and to grow and advance the business

- Review workpapers and finalise the preparation of year-end financial statements, tax returns and advice





- Support clients with a range of other compliance obligations and queries

- Prepare pre-June tax estimates for clients

About you

- Completed tertiary qualifications in Accounting

- 3-5 years' experience in a professional accounting environment

- A desire to produce financial statements for clients that provide meaningful management accounting information

- A strong working knowledge in Australian tax law for the purpose of meeting compliance obligations

- Experience with mainstream accounting programs and accounting practice software

- Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office applications and Xero

- Use clear analysis that leads to logical, informed and objective decisions
