Foreman/ leading hand for Concrete and Civil Construction

We are seeking an experienced Civil Foreman or Leading Hand to join our team within a long-established civil construction business with over 40 years of industry experience.

n

Our projects are spread across local government contracts and private civil works, and we are looking for someone who can confidently lead a crew while still being willing to get hands-on.

n

The successful applicant will have demonstrated experience delivering civil construction projects involving bulk earthworks, pavement construction, drainage, concreting and asphalting.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

n

n
- Managing and leading site crews, including labourers and plant operators
n
- Coordinating daily site activities and ensuring works are completed efficiently
n
- Working closely with the Site Supervisor and project management team
n
- Completing daily reports and site paperwork via mobile applications
n
- Hands-on participation in site activities when required
n
- Coordinating subcontractors, deliveries, plant and materials
n
- Liaising professionally with client and Council representatives
n
- Dealing professionally with members of the public, particularly on projects in high-traffic residential and commercial areas
n
- Monitoring workmanship and ensuring works meet project specifications
n
- Working to tight construction programs and project deadlines
n
- Maintaining high standards of OHS, environmental compliance and site presentation
n
- Identifying site issues early and communicating them to management
n

About You

n

To be successful in this role, you will need:

n

n
- Strong previous experience as a Civil Foreman or Civil Leading Hand
n
- Demonstrated experience across civil construction projects
n
- Experience with earthworks, pavements, drainage, concrete and asphalt works
n
- The ability to effectively manage labourers, operators and subcontractors
n
- Strong communication and organizational skills
n
- The ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications
n
- A practical, hands-on approach to getting projects completed
n
- Strong understanding of site safety requirements
n
- Good communication skills when dealing with clients, Council representatives and the public
n
- Current driver's license
n

Experience delivering local government or Council civil infrastructure projects will be highly regarded.

n
