About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Senior Sourcing Specialist – Defence & Intelligence to support specialist recruitment across the Australian and U.S. Defence, Intelligence, National Security, Aerospace, Government, and Space sectors.

This is a specialist sourcing role for recruiters who understand how to identify and engage highly sought-after technical professionals working on critical national security projects.

You'll partner closely with experienced recruitment consultants to develop sourcing strategies, conduct market mapping, engage passive candidates, and build high-quality talent pipelines for specialist and hard-to-fill positions.

This isn't a "post and pray" recruitment setting. Success in this role comes from proactive sourcing, personalised candidate engagement, strategic research, and strong relationship-building.

Key Responsibilities

Candidate Sourcing & Talent Pipeline Development

- Source specialist professionals across Defence, Intelligence, National Security, Cyber Security, Engineering, ICT, Space, Infrastructure, Construction, and Technical disciplines
- Identify and engage passive candidates using LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search, referrals, and advanced sourcing techniques
- Build and maintain strategic talent pipelines for active and future recruitment projects
- Conduct market mapping and competitor research across Defence and Intelligence sectors
- Screen candidates against technical skills, industry experience, security clearance requirements, and role suitability
- Deliver high-quality candidate longlists aligned with client requirements

Candidate Outreach & Engagement

- Write personalised outreach messages that generate strong response rates
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with specialist professionals




- Keep candidates engaged throughout the recruitment process
- Represent clients professionally across all candidate interactions

Recruitment Delivery Support

- Partner with recruitment consultants on sourcing strategies and hiring priorities
- Coordinate interviews and candidate communications
- Provide market intelligence on candidate availability, salary expectations, and industry trends
- Support successful placements through strategic sourcing and talent pipeline development

ATS & Reporting

- Maintain accurate ATS and CRM records
- Update sourcing activity promptly
- Track pipeline growth, sourcing performance, and response rates
- Prepare recruitment activity reports and market insights

What We're Looking For

- 3+ years of agency recruitment or sourcing experience
- Previous experience recruiting within Defence, Intelligence, National Security, Government, Aerospace, or Defence Industry sectors
- Strong sourcing capability using LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search, and advanced talent sourcing techniques
- Experience recruiting technical professionals across engineering, cyber security, ICT, software, project services, or defence capability
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Strong market mapping and candidate engagement experience
- Experience using ATS and recruitment CRM platforms
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple specialist recruitment assignments simultaneously
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment

Highly Desirable

- Experience supporting Australian Defence recruitment, including Baseline, NV1, NV2, or PV-cleared roles
- Experience supporting U.S. Defence or Intelligence Community (IC) recruitment, including TS/SCI, CI Polygraph, or Full Scope Polygraph requirements
- Previous recruitment experience supporting Defence Prime Contractors, Government Agencies, Intelligence Organisations, or Space programs
- Executive Search or retained recruitment experience
- Knowledge of Defence recruitment markets in Australia or the United States

- Contribute to successful placements through exceptional market research and candidate engagement
