IEPro are working with an established civil contractor to recruit an experienced Commercial Manager to lead commercial performance across a growing portfolio of infrastructure projects throughout Queensland.

Based from either Brisbane or the Gold Coast, this is a senior position within the business, working closely with operational leaders and project teams to ensure strong commercial outcomes across both current and future projects.

The opportunity will suit an experienced commercial professional who understands civil construction, can operate across multiple projects and enjoys being close enough to delivery to genuinely influence project performance.

The Opportunity

As Commercial Manager, you will provide commercial leadership across a portfolio of civil infrastructure projects, supporting Project Managers and senior leadership throughout the project lifecycle.

You will oversee contractual and commercial performance, identify risk and opportunity, support project teams with complex contractual matters and ensure accurate forecasting and reporting across the portfolio.

Importantly, this is not simply a reporting position. You will be expected to work closely with delivery teams, understand what is happening on projects and provide practical commercial support that improves outcomes.

The Role

In this role, you will:

- Lead commercial and contractual performance across multiple civil infrastructure projects
- Support Project Managers with contract administration, claims, variations and commercial strategy
- Review project financial performance, forecasts and cost-to-complete reporting
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities across the project portfolio
- Lead the preparation and negotiation of contractual claims and variations
- Oversee subcontractor procurement, agreements and commercial performance
- Review head contracts and provide commercial guidance to project teams
- Support project mobilisation and commercial handover from pre-contracts
- Develop and improve commercial systems,



processes and reporting
- Mentor and support Contract Administrators and project-based commercial personnel
- Work closely with operational leadership to improve project performance
- Provide senior management with clear and accurate commercial reporting

About You

To succeed, you will bring:

- Significant commercial experience within Australian civil construction
- Previous experience in a senior commercial, contracts or project commercial role
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, claims, variations and contractual risk
- Demonstrated experience managing commercial performance across multiple projects
- Strong financial acumen including forecasting, cost reporting and project controls
- Experience negotiating subcontractor agreements and managing commercial relationships
- Ability to work collaboratively with Project Managers and operational teams
- Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder management capability
- Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Law or a related discipline
- A practical and commercially astute approach to project delivery
