Our client is a major NSW Government transport organisation responsible for keeping communities connected through secure and reliable road and transport infrastructure across metropolitan and regional NSW.

This role sits within a regional road maintenance crew supporting essential road infrastructure around Hay and surrounding areas. The supplied role description covers hands-on maintenance and construction across pavements, drainage, roadside fixtures, signage and other road assets.

About the Role

Get outdoors and join a road crew maintaining and improving roads across regional NSW. You'll carry out practical roadworks, labouring and maintenance using hand tools, powered equipment and small plant.

- Position: Road Worker
- Rate: $45.45 per hour + super
- Location: Hay, NSW
- Duration: ASAP - 27 November 2026
- Anticipated Hours: 8.5hrs per day, 76 hours per fortnight (9-day fortnight)
- Living away allowances: Paid when working away from the depot

Key Responsibilities

- Carry out road construction and maintenance work
- Repair and maintain road pavements and drainage
- Complete general labouring and manual tasks




- Use powered and non-powered hand tools safely
- Assist with roadside signs, fixtures and road assets
- Operate suitable small plant and equipment where competent
- Complete pre-start and safety checks
- Assist with traffic control activities
- Follow WHS, environmental and site procedures
- Report hazards, defects and site issues
- Work safely around live traffic and moving plant
- Support the crew with site set-up and pack-down
- Complete basic work records when required
- Travel and work away from the Hay depot when required

About You

We're looking for someone reliable, safety-focused and comfortable doing physical work outdoors.

You must have:

- Current White Card
- Current Workers On Foot ticket (or willingness to obtain prior to commencement at own expense)
- Current Class C Driver Licence or higher
- Traffic Control ticket or willingness to obtain (at own expense)
- Ability to pass a National Criminal History Record Check and references
- Ability to safely perform physical and manual work
- Ability to follow site and safety procedures
- Reliable attitude and ability to work in a crew
- Willingness to travel or work away when required
- Valid working rights in Australia (no sponsorship is available)
- No employer sponsorship available

Previous roadworks, civil construction, pavement, drainage,



asphalt or general civil labouring experience will be well regarded.
