Connecting the Docs is seeking an experienced and motivated Deputy Director of Emergency Medicine to join a progressive regional health service in Victoria.

This is a rare leadership chance for a senior Emergency Medicine specialist looking to combine hands-on clinical practice with strategic leadership, workforce development, education and service improvement within a modern Emergency Department.
Recently relocated to a purpose-built, state-of-the-art facility, the

Emergency Department manages approximately 18,000 presentations annually and continues to expand its services to meet the needs of a growing regional community.

The Role Reporting to the Clinical Director of Emergency Medicine, the Deputy Director will support departmental leadership,



governance and operational performance while maintaining a significant clinical presence within the Emergency Department.

Key Responsibilities

- Support strategic and operational leadership of the Emergency Department
- Provide senior clinical leadership and maintain an active Emergency Medicine caseload
- Promote excellence in patient safety, quality improvement and clinical governance
- Support medical workforce planning, recruitment and workforce sustainability
- Mentor, supervise and support junior doctors and multidisciplinary team members
- Contribute to departmental education, training and professional development initiatives
- Participate in service planning, policy development and innovation projects
- Foster a positive, collaborative and high-performing team culture

About You

We are seeking a clinician who combines strong Emergency Medicine expertise with proven leadership capability.
Essential Criteria

- Specialist Registration with AHPRA
- FACEM, or
- FRACGP or FACRRM with advanced Emergency Medicine qualifications and substantial Emergency Department experience
- Demonstrated senior Emergency Medicine experience within Australia or a comparable healthcare system
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Commitment to clinical governance,



quality improvement and patient-centred care
- Experience supporting education, supervision and workforce development
- Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
