JOB DESCRIPTION:

Kirat Karo Farms is a mixed vegetable farming business based in Laidley South, Queensland. Operating across approximately 30 acres, the farm produces a range of vegetables including zucchinis, eggplants, capsicums, bok choy and pumpkins, supplying nearby restaurants and markets.

We are seeking a full-time, permanent Mixed Crop Farmer to oversee and coordinate crop production and general farming activities across the property. The role involves managing crops from preparation and planting through to harvesting, storage and distribution, while maintaining productive and efficient farming operations.

This position will be responsible for:

Tasks· Plan and manage mixed vegetable crops based on seasons, weather and customer demand.

· Prepare soil, plant seeds and seedlings, and monitor crop growth.

· Manage irrigation, cultivation, fertilising, pest and weed control.

· Harvest, sort, grade, pack and store produce.

· Operate and maintain tractors, cultivators, sprinklers and other farm equipment.

· Maintain farm facilities, irrigation systems, fences and equipment.

· Keep records of crops, harvests and farming activities.





· Coordinate produce storage and delivery to nearby restaurants and markets.

· Organise and supervise farm workers and contractors.

· Follow workplace health, safety and environmental requirements.

Key attributes required for position:

· Relevant farming experience or qualifications.

· At least 1 year of farming experience preferred.

· Knowledge of vegetable growing, irrigation, harvesting and crop care.

· Experience using farm machinery and equipment.

· Ability to identify and manage pests, weeds, crop and irrigation issues.

· Good planning, record-keeping and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to work independently and supervise workers and contractors.

·Positive communication skills and commitment to farm safety.

Job type: Full-time, Permanent

Schedule: Monday – Friday 7.6 hours per day

Ability to commute/relocate to Warwick. Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
