ABOUT THE ROLE

Mounties Care is seeking compassionate and experienced Casual in home Support Workers to provide support for a client living in Southport. Queensland.

This role involves supporting a client living with advanced dementia/Alzheimer's disease and requires someone who is patient, understanding, and experienced in delivering person-centred dementia care.

We are looking for support workers who can assist with a variety of shifts ranging from 3 to 10 hours in duration, depending on client needs and your availability. This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking versatile casual work while making a meaningful difference.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Providing high-quality respite care and support in the client's home
- Supporting a client living with advanced dementia/Alzheimer's using a calm, reassuring, and person-centred approach
- Assisting with personal care, including showering, dressing, grooming, toileting.
- Providing companionship and social engagement
- Supporting community access, including outings and recreational activities
- Assisting with meal preparation and light household duties




- Monitoring client wellbeing and reporting any changes or concerns
- Encouraging independence while maintaining the client's safety, dignity, and comfort
- Working collaboratively with family members and the care team

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Demonstrated experience supporting people living with dementia or Alzheimer's disease (essential)
- Experience in aged care, home care, community care, or disability support
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability or equivalent) – desirable
- A caring, patient, and compassionate approach to care
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage behaviours associated with dementia in a calm and professional manner
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check and Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Current driver's licence, reliable vehicle, and comprehensive insurance
- Current COVID-19 vaccinations (minimum two doses)
