Key responsibilities

- Interpret and work from detailed building plans, drawings, and specifications.
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble timber and other materials with accuracy.
- Construct, install, and repair frameworks, structures, and fixtures in residential homes.
- Undertake renovations, extensions, and property maintenance projects from start to finish.
- Liaise with clients, site supervisors, and team members to ensure quality outcomes.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently on site.
- Erect and dismantle temporary structures, such as scaffolding, when required.




- Inspect and assess existing structures for repair or renovation needs.
- Maintain a tidy, organised worksite and adhere to all safety and compliance standards.
- Source, order, and manage materials to minimise waste and maximise project efficiency.
- Fit and install doors, windows, flooring, skirting, architraves, and cabinetry.
- Resolve onsite challenges with practical, solutions-focused thinking.
- Complete daily job records and communicate progress to management.
- Mentor apprentices and contribute to a positive team culture.
- Deliver high-quality finishes that reflect MK Home Constructions’ commitment to craftsmanship.

Qualifications and skills

- Minimum 1 year experience as a qualified Carpenter, ideally within residential renovations and extensions.
- Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent Australian qualification (essential).
- Sound knowledge of Australian building codes, standards, and safe work practices.
- Strong ability to interpret plans, drawings, and specifications accurately.
- Skilled in framing, fix-out, and general carpentry, with a keen eye for detail and quality.
- Valid Australian driver’s licence and reliable transport.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
