We are seeking an experienced HSE Officer, Projects to join our Projects team on a major workforce accommodation project at Weipa Mine.

Working a FIFO 2:1 roster from Brisbane, you'll provide hands‑on HSE support, coaching and technical advice to project teams undertaking construction and high‑risk activities. Reporting to the National HSEQ Manager, you'll work closely with supervisors, subcontractors and operational leaders to drive a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with legislative and project requirements.

This role is suited to a proactive safety skilled who enjoys being in the field, influencing safe work practices, coaching frontline teams and contributing to successful project delivery in a remote

What You'll Be Doing





- Coach and support frontline supervisors and project teams in HSE best practices.
- Provide technical advice on WHS legislation, risk management and construction safety requirements.
- Conduct site inspections, audits and compliance reviews.
- Monitor project activities to ensure compliance with company procedures and legislative obligations.
- Support incident investigations, corrective actions and injury management processes.
- Review HSE performance data and recommend improvement initiatives.
- Deliver training, mentoring and coaching to supervisors and operational personnel.
- Promote a strong safety‑first culture across the project.

What You'll Bring

- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (minimum).
- Previous HSE experience within Building and Construction environments.
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, Codes of Practice and risk management principles.
- Experience conducting site inspections, audits and workplace coaching.
- Ability to build positive relationships and influence safe work practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Sound computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.

Current White Card and Australian Driver's Licence are essential. Building & Construction qualifications, ICAM, RTW Coordinator, ISO Auditor and High-Risk Work Licences will be highly regarded.

This role offers an initial engagement through to the end of December, with potential opportunities to continue on future ATCO projects subject to performance and project requirements.
