Job Description
Casual Customer Experience Officer Leisure & Aquatics

The City of Canterbury Bankstown is one of the largest Councils in NSW, delivering a wide range of services to one of Sydney's most diverse communities.
n
Opening late 2026, the new Canterbury Leisure & Aquatic Centre is set to become the heart of health, fitness and fun in our community. We are now recruiting a number of casual Customer Experience Officers to help deliver welcoming, efficient and high-quality customer service across our Leisure and Aquatic centres - Canterbury, Birrong, Roselands and Max Parker.

The role
n
We are seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused Customer Experience Officers to join our Leisure and Aquatic Services team on a casual basis.
n
In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, supporting reception, customer enquiries, transactions, bookings, kiosk operations and general customer service across the centre environment.
n
Shifts may be available Monday to Sunday across a range of operating hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
n
Duties will include but not be limited to:
n
n
- Provide welcoming and professional customer service to centre users.
n
- Respond to customer enquiries, feedback and bookings.
n
- Process transactions, cash handling and reconciliations accurately.
n
- Support kiosk operations, including food handling, serving and stock presentation.
n
- Maintain clean, organised and safe reception, kiosk and customer service areas.
n
- Promote centre services, programs and memberships to customers.
n

You will have:
n
n
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
n
- Current Food Handling Certificate
n
- Current Working with Children Check, if you are 18 years or over.
n
- Robust communication and customer service skills.
n
- Cash handling,
Point of Sale, computer and administration skills.
n
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
n
- Enthusiasm, initiative and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
n
- Evidence of full unrestricted working rights in Australia.
n
n
Recruitment process
n
Shortlisted applicants may be invited to complete online screening/testing and attend an Engagement Centre as part of the recruitment process.
n
Key dates:
n

- Applications close: Sunday 20/09/2026
n
- Online testing issued shortly after deadline closure
n
- Engagement Centre set to commence between 24th September - 25th September
n
n
Pre-employment checks will include reference checks, verification of qualifications and clearances, and a medical assessment. Applicants should ensure their First Aid, CPR, food handling certificate and Working with Children Check, if over 18, are current and ready to provide.
n
The hourly rate for this opportunity is $31.38 Grade B, Step 1, plus 25% casual loading and 12% super.
