Company Accountant - Maternity leave cover 12 Months

Are you a hands-on finance professional who enjoys the balance of high-level reporting and the day-to-day operational detail? We are looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to join our team for a maternity leave cover.

In business for over 25 years, NICCO is the most trusted name in custom-made timber windows and doors for leading builders, architects and designers.

As our Company Accountant, you'll work closely with the Managing Director, where you have an integral role in ensuring our finance operations run efficiently and proactively. This role will commence prior to our Business Manager commencing maternity leave, providing a structured handover and the opportunity to gain a thorough understanding of the business before confidently assuming responsibility for the finance function.

Key Responsibilities
Finance

- Lead the day-to-day finance function - manage end-to-end financial reporting, including complex month-end reconciliations, payroll tax, and BAS compliance. You will also track key operational metrics and present clear, actionable financial insights to our shareholders.

- Accounts Admin - handle daily banking and credit card reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are tracked and documented.



You will also oversee rental property billing and manage outgoing expenses to keep our administrative accounts precise and organised.

- Accounts Payable - oversee the accounts payable cycle by verifying orders, managing supplier invoices, and ensuring timely electronic payments. You will also maintain clear records and handle all supplier communication to resolve discrepancies and manage credit accounts.

- Accounts Receivable - Manage the full accounts receivable cycle, from creating sales orders and issuing invoices to tracking deposits and allocating payments. You’ll also maintain key financial spreadsheets and provide explicit, timely communication to ensure all client accounts stay current and accurate.

- Payroll and HR administration - manage end-to-end weekly payroll processing, including superannuation and leave tracking, to ensure timely and accurate payments. You will also lead the onboarding process for new hires, handling all documentation and IT setups to help our team grow smoothly.

- Manage and optimise the MYOB AccountRight system, ensuring data integrity and supporting accurate financial reporting

About You
Essential Requirements

- Previous experience in a Finance Manager, Company Accountant or similar senior finance role





- Strong accounting knowledge and experience managing the month-end close process

- Demonstrated experience using MYOB AccountRight is essential, as we're seeking someone who can confidently step into the role with minimal training

- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

- Excellent organisational, communication and relationship-building skills

- A proactive approach to identifying issues and implementing practical solutions

- Exceptional attention to detail – accuracy is your superpower
