Equality Disability & Health Care Services is looking for reliable, compassionate, and experienced Support Workers to join our growing team based in Penrith. As an experienced Support worker, you will provide 1:1 support to a client with complex mental health support needs. The successful candidate will have experience supporting people with conditions such as Borderline Personality Disorder, Schizophrenia, and trauma-related presentations, and will bring a trauma-informed approach to their practice.

About the role

Equality Disability & Health Care Services is looking for reliable, compassionate, and experienced Support Workers to join our growing team based in Penrith. As an experienced Support worker, you will provide 1:1 support to a client with complex mental health support needs. The successful candidate will have experience supporting people with conditions such as Borderline Personality Disorder, Schizophrenia, and trauma-related presentations, and will bring a trauma-informed approach to their practice.

Key responsibilities

- Provide 1:1 or 2:1 support to participants

- Assist with daily living tasks, including personal care, meal preparation, and transport

- Support participants with community access, including appointments, social outings, fitness activities, and skill-building programs

- Promote participant independence, choice, and capacity building

- Build strong,



professional relationships with participants, families, and stakeholders

- Maintain accurate progress notes, incident reports, and documentation

- Follow participant support plans and uphold NDIS practice standards

What we’re looking for

- Experience working within the disability support sector

- Strong experience supporting participants with mental health conditions and complex trauma backgrounds

- Understanding and application of trauma-informed care principles

- Experience working within restrictive practice frameworks and implementing behaviour support strategies appropriately

- Strong administrative and documentation skills, including progress notes, incident reporting, and compliance records

Risk and Safety Information:

- The client may at times present with verbal aggression. If this occurs, staff are required to disengage and remove themselves from the workplace for their own safety.

- Staff must be able to recognise and respond appropriately to safety concerns, including contacting emergency services where required.

Requirements

- NDIS Worker Screening Check

- Working With Children Check

- Current First Aid & CPR certification

- Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle

- Right to work in Australia
