About the role

Join Redcliffe Hospital's Special Care Nursery and become part of a dedicated team providing specialised care to neonates and their families within a supportive maternity workplace. This role offers the opportunity to apply advanced neonatal nursing skills while working alongside midwives, paediatricians, neonatal specialists and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to deliver safe, compassionate and family-centred care.

As a Clinical Nurse, you will play a key leadership role within the Special Care Nursery, supporting the delivery of evidence-based neonatal care, clinical education and quality improvement initiatives. You will also provide guidance to nursing staff, contribute to service development and help ensure the highest standards of care for newborns requiring specialised support.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

- Apply advanced clinical nursing expertise to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for neonates within the Special Care Nursery and Maternity Services.
- Provide support, guidance and clinical leadership to Registered Nurses and other members of the healthcare team in complex clinical situations.




- Respond effectively to changes in a neonate's condition using advanced assessment, problem-solving and intervention skills.
- Educate and support parents and families to promote confidence, wellbeing and participation in their baby's care journey.
- Contribute to quality improvement, evidence-based practice, education and service development activities that enhance patient outcomes and clinical excellence.
