Finance Administrator / Accounts Officer

About the role
We are seeking an experienced and organised Finance Administrator / Accounts Officer to join our team. This is a hands-on role responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting cash flow management across the business.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with both numbers and people. In addition to managing accounts and reconciliations, you will regularly liaise with customers regarding invoices, payments and account enquiries. As such, solid communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach are essential.

Key responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable
- Process supplier invoices and payments
- Ensure invoices are accurately coded and approved
- Manage payment runs and maintain creditor records
- Accounts Receivable
- Raise customer invoices and process receipts
- Follow up overdue accounts and manage debt recovery activities
- Respond to customer account enquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Perform bank, credit card and general ledger reconciliations
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- Assist with month-end processing and reporting
- Support payroll administration if required
- Cash Flow Management
- Prepare and maintain cash flow forecasts
- Monitor cash positions and anticipated receipts and payments
- Provide financial insights to support business planning and decision-making
About you
You are highly organised, proactive and take pride in producing accurate work. You have strong attention to detail and enjoy building positive relationships with customers, suppliers and colleagues.
Essential Skills and Experience
Previous experience in bookkeeping, accounts administration or a similar role
Strong understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
Experience performing reconciliations and managing debtor collections
Ability to prepare and maintain cash flow forecasts
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organisational and time management skills
Professional verbal and written communication skills
Confidence speaking with customers and handling account enquiries
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
