Waratah Dental is seeking a friendly, organised and professional Dental Receptionist to join our team in Lithgow.

As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play an important role in creating a warm, welcoming and professional experience from the moment a patient contacts the practice through to the completion of their visit.

This is a 4-day-per-week position and would suit someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a busy environment and takes pride in being organised, proactive and exceptionally patient-focused.

You will work closely with our Dentists, Dental Assistants, Hygienists, Senior Dental Assistant and Practice Manager to ensure the practice operates efficiently and our patients receive a consistently high standard of care and service.

Key responsibilities

- Welcoming patients and ensuring they feel comfortable, valued and well cared for
- Managing patient appointments, bookings, confirmations, cancellations and recalls
- Answering telephone enquiries and responding to patient enquiries professionally and efficiently
- Managing and coordinating the appointment book to support practice efficiency
- Processing patient payments and HICAPS claims accurately
- Assisting patients with account enquiries, treatment fees and payment options
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records in our practice management system
- Managing emails, correspondence and general administrative duties
- Following up treatment plans, recalls, outstanding appointments and other patient enquiries
- Assisting with the smooth coordination of patient treatment, referrals and appointments
- Liaising effectively with dentists, dental assistants,



hygienists and external providers
- Communicating relevant patient information accurately with the clinical team
- Maintaining a clean, organised and professional reception and waiting area
- Supporting the Practice Manager and wider team with day-to-day administrative tasks
- Following practice policies, procedures and systems consistently
- Maintaining strict patient confidentiality and privacy at all times
- Contributing positively to the culture, teamwork and smooth running of the practice

Experience

Previous dental reception experience is highly desirable.

However, we will also consider applicants with strong reception, healthcare, administration or customer-service experience who demonstrate the right attitude, professionalism and willingness to learn.

Experience with the following would be advantageous:

- Dental4Windows or similar dental practice management software
- HICAPS
- Appointment booking and recall systems
- Microsoft Office
- Healthcare or medical reception
