Due to continued growth, McArdles Cleaning & Restoration is seeking an experienced Senior Technician / Team Leader to join our team across the Central West.
This is a hands-on senior position for someone who takes pride in their work, can manage jobs independently and is confident leading others when working as part of a team.
This is not a role where you stand back and direct others. You will work alongside the team while taking responsibility for job coordination, quality, problem-solving and the overall customer experience.
For the right person, there will also be opportunities to develop further skills in specialist cleaning and restoration services, including mould remediation, water damage restoration and other technical work.
The Role
You will work across a variety of commercial and residential cleaning projects throughout the Central West.
On smaller jobs, you may work independently and be trusted to deliver the work to McArdles's standards. On larger projects, you will take the lead while remaining hands-on alongside other team members.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Completing commercial and residential cleaning to a consistently high standard
- Leading by example and working alongside the team
- Allocating tasks and coordinating staff on larger jobs
- Checking the quality of work before leaving the site
- Acting as the main in office contact for customers when required
- Responding professionally to customer questions and minor concerns
- Adjusting the cleaning approach or staff allocation when circumstances change
- Identifying issues that need to be escalated to management
- Providing clear updates regarding job progress, staff performance and customer matters
- Taking ownership of jobs from arrival through to successful completion
- Learning and applying more advanced cleaning and restoration techniques
About You
We are looking for an experienced cleaner who has previously supervised or led other staff.
More importantly, you will be someone we can trust to take responsibility for a job without needing constant supervision.
You will bring:
- Strong commercial and/or residential cleaning experience
- Previous experience supervising or leading cleaning staff
- A high standard of workmanship and attention to detail
- Reliability and a strong work ethic
- Confidence dealing directly with customers
- Good communication and people skills
- The ability to organise and motivate a small team
- Initiative and sound judgement when things do not go according to plan
- A practical approach to problem-solving
- A willingness to remain hands-on and work alongside the team
- An interest in specialist cleaning and restoration work
- A current driver licence
- A willingness to undertake a pre-employment medical (PEM) and drug and alcohol screening
Experience or qualifications in IICRC restoration standards, mould remediation, water damage restoration, fire and smoke restoration, trauma cleaning or other specialist cleaning services would be highly regarded.
