The Sustainability Advanced Clinical Lead provides advanced strategic and clinical leadership to advance Children's Health Queensland's (CHQ) commitment to provide environmentally sustainable healthcare and climate resilience. The role is accountable for leading the implementation and evaluation of the CHQ Climate Risk and Environmental Sustainability Targets (CREST) Plan 2025–2029, driving the integration of sustainability principles across clinical, operational and corporate services.

About The Team

The CHQ Sustainability Unit is a specialist service within Children's Health Queensland that provides clinical leadership and expertise in environmentally sustainable healthcare. The team provides strategic direction, governance oversight, and practical implementation of sustainability initiatives across CHQ clinical, corporate, and operational services. Through collaboration, innovation, and evidence‑based practice, the unit supports CHQ's commitment to environmental stewardship, climate resilience, and the delivery of high‑quality, sustainable healthcare for children and families.

About The Role

In this role you will advise, coach and support others to deliver for children, young people and families (Leader of Others) in accordance with the Children's Health Queensland Leadership Excellence Framework and the Queensland Public Service and the CHQ values . Your contribution will include:

- Lead the development and implementation of the CREST Plan 2025–2029 and associated sustainability frameworks, programs and initiatives across CHQ.
- Lead the delivery of environmental sustainability initiatives, education and awareness activities across CHQ to promote and achieve more sustainable clinical and non‑clinical waste management and recycling practices.
- Provide advanced advice, direction and guidance to stakeholders relating to projects, programs and initiatives under the key focus areas of the CREST Plan 2025–2029.




- Engage and influence Service Directors in the development and implementation of effective environmental sustainability initiatives across multiple portfolios.
- Lead and co‑ordinate key environmental sustainability governance structures, including the CREST Action Group and CHQ Green Team.
