Our client, a leading engineering workshop in Kilsyth, is seeking a skilled Trades Assistant to join their team and work across the Assembly and Machine departments.

- Day Shift: Monday to Thursday 6.00am - 2.30pm, Friday 6.00am - 12.00pm
n
- RATE: $40.71 p/h + Super + Required O/T

- Temp to Perm Opportunity

The duties will include, but are not limited to:

n

n
- Floating between the assembly and machine departments to provide support where needed, ensuring smooth workflow and efficient operations.
n
- Operating forklifts safely and efficiently for material handling and movement of mild steel and sheet metal around the workshop.
n
- Loading sheets onto various machinery, ensuring proper alignment and setup.
n
- Assisting operators with CNC machinery, laser cutters, and brake presses,



including material handling, setup support, and general assistance.
n
- Supporting thepaint shop with preparation and movement of finished components.
n
- Performing general labouring duties such as grinding, deburring, measuring, and cutting preparation.
n
- Keeping work areas tidy and organised at all times to ensure optimal workflow and a secure environment.
n
- Strictly adhering to all workshop safety procedures and policies.
n

To be considered for this role, you must have/be:

n

n
- A current and valid Australian Forklift (LF class) Licence is essential.
n
- Proven experience as a Trades Assistant within a sheet metal or mild steel fabrication workshop.
n
- Familiarity and a willingness to assist with CNC machinery, laser cutters, and brake presses.
n
- Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with hand and power tools.
n
- A high level of reliability, punctuality, and a proactive attitude.
n
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cohesive team.
n
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions.
n
- A strong and demonstrated commitment to workplace safety.
