Senior Community Advisor (Indigenous Affairs & Communications)

Agnico Eagle are seeking a Senior Community Advisor to work at their Fosterville Gold Mine in Victoria.

About the role

The Fosterville Gold Mine (FGM) operates on Dja Dja Wurrung Country and we are committed to building respectful, meaningful and enduring relationships with Traditional Owners, First Nations communities and the broader community.

We are now seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Community Advisor (Indigenous Affairs & Communications) to join our Environment and Community team. This is a unique opportunity to lead initiatives that strengthen partnerships with Traditional Owners, support the delivery of key commitments and drive effective communication across our business and communities.

Reporting to the Environment and Community Manager, your duties will include:

Lead the coordination, implementation and continuous improvement of FGM’s Indigenous affairs programs and commitments.

Coordinate activities associated with the Bakaru Wayaparrangu Agreement, Reconciliation Action Plan and cultural awareness initiatives.

Build and maintain respectful, collaborative and trusted relationships with Traditional Owners, Indigenous organisations, community representatives and key stakeholders.

Maintain accurate records of engagement activities, commitments, consultation outcomes and stakeholder feedback.

Monitor, track and report on commitments,



actions and risks associated with corporate sustainability frameworks.

Oversee the delivery of FGM's internal and external communications program.

Ensure communication processes, approvals and messaging are aligned with site and corporate priorities.

Provide coaching and supervision of a small dedicated team responsible for Indigenous affairs and communications activities.

The roster for this residential position will be Monday – Friday, 40 hour week.

What we are looking for:

Strong Indigenous, community and stakeholder engagement experience.

Demonstrated experience within community relations, indigenous affairs, stakeholder engagement, communications or a related field

An excellent communicator and influencer amongst a range of multi-disciplinary and diverse stakeholders.

Strong attention to detail and reporting

Excellent organisational skills with the demonstrated ability to set priorities and to meet deadlines.

You're positive and self-motivated, and able to demonstrate sound judgement in your decision making.

Experience within the mining industry is a strong advantage.

Tertiary qualifications in Community Development, Social Science, Indigenous Studies, Communications or a related discipline.
