About the role

Reporting to the Geology Superintendent, this role will see you control, direct and participate in all underground grade control functions, demonstrated by accurate and timely geological delineation of the ore to meet the schedule.

8:6 roster FIFO of any capital city on the east coast of Australia or residential DIDO options with relocation support.

Your main responsibilities

- Lead the day-to-day activities of the Mine Geology team.




- Allocate work priorities to Mine Geologists and Graduate Geologists.
- Mentor the geology function on the Woodlawn site, ensuring that information and updates are provided through the appropriate reporting channels.
- Liaise with other departments as required regarding mine planning and operations, and metallurgy to assist with optimal mill performance.
- Support technical studies and mining economic assessments as required to support site growth, production targets and near-mine exploration.
- Review and approve all in-mine diamond drilling, including planning of platforms, scheduling and risk assessments.
- Review and approve all domain and wireframe updates.
- Coordinate with the corporate technical services team the delivery of validated site data collection in preparation for resource estimation updates.
- Ensure daily and monthly mine-to-mill reconciliations are monitored and completed.
- Development of direct and indirect reports within the department to facilitate career progression and support succession planning.
- Ensure there is a setting of clear accountabilities for direct reports and effective performance management where required.




- Review all daily/weekly and monthly reports to ensure the geology functions are reported correctly.
- Promote, comply with, and demonstrate leadership with respect to DEVELOP's values.

About you

- Bachelor of Science, Geology or equivalent.
- At least 7 years experience in the mining industry (majority underground), with solid exposure to base metals.
- Experience with mining software: Datamine, Deswik or Leapfrog preferred.
- Demonstrate ability to maintain or exceed best industry practice in all geological tasks.
- Pragmatic approach to troubleshooting and problem solving.
- Flexibility to adapt to improved procedures and practices.
- Strong Geology software and technical writing skills.
- Awareness of the Mines Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations.
- Current C Class Drivers Licence.
