Ardea Investment Management is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team, supporting the design, development and maintenance of software applications and internal systems that underpin our investment and trading operations.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, test and document software applications and internal systems used to support investment and trading operations, in accordance with business requirements and technical specifications
- Analyse user and business requirements to design and implement full‑stack software solutions using React (front‑end) and Django (back‑end), ensuring applications meet functional and technical specifications
- Write, test, debug and maintain program code to identify and correct system errors and performance issues, ensuring applications operate reliably and to specification
- Modify and enhance existing software tools to improve performance, functionality and reliability, including portfolio optimisation and investment workflow applications
- Design and implement system integrations between internal applications,
SimCorp APIs and SQL Server databases to support data flow across investment platforms
- Install, implement and support internal software applications used by portfolio managers and middle office teams, including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
- Consult and collaborate with research, trading and operations teams to evaluate system requirements and translate business needs into technical software solutions
- Document system functionality, technical specifications and processes to support ongoing maintenance and knowledge transfer
About you
- Demonstrated experience in full‑stack software development, ideally using React and Django
- Experience working with SQL Server databases and system integrations
- Solid problem‑solving skills and the ability to work across technical and business stakeholders
- Experience in financial services or investment management highly regarded but not essential
