The Registered Nurse (RN) works collaboratively within the general practice team to provide high-quality, patient-centred primary health care services. The RN plays a key role in health promotion, disease prevention, chronic disease management, immunisation, wound care, and patient education, while supporting GPs in the delivery of comprehensive care.

Key responsibilities

- Provide comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care in accordance with the NMBA Standards for Practice.
- Conduct patient assessments and contribute to care planning and review.
- Administer vaccines and medications safely in line with the Australian Immunisation Handbook and practice protocols.
- Perform wound assessment, management, and dressing.
- Undertake ECGs, spirometry, urinalysis, and other diagnostic tests as required.
- Assist GPs with minor procedures and maintain aseptic technique.




- Monitor patients with chronic conditions (e.g., diabetes, asthma, COPD, hypertension) and participate in care plan preparation and reviews (GPMPs and TCAs under MBS).
- Provide patient education and health coaching on lifestyle modification, preventive care, and self-management.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records in the clinical software (e.g., Best Practice, Medical Director).

About you

- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse (Division 1).
- Current CPR.
- Experience in general practice or primary health care (desirable).
- Proficient computer and clinical software skills.
